Nashville, TN - March 30, 2020 - Today on his 30th birthday, multi-PLATINUM entertainer Thomas Rhett releases “Be A Light” via The Valory Music Co., a never-before-heard song with the help of friends Reba McEntire, Hillary Scott, Chris Tomlin and Keith Urban. Having “comfortably grown into his role as a star with something to say” (Billboard), Thomas Rhett co-wrote the timeless message sure to embolden fans alongside Josh Miller, Josh Thompson and Matt Dragstrem. Listen to the song’s poignant lyrics and boundless message of encouragement here. Connect with Thomas Rhett at 4:30P CT on Instagram Live here.

“I wrote ‘Be A Light’ last year as a way to process negativity and sadness I was seeing in the world,” explains Thomas Rhett. “Now, as I sit in my home with my family on my 30th Birthday, we are in the middle of a world-wide pandemic affecting every single human on earth, all while our town of Nashville is still healing from devastating tornadoes that destroyed so much of our city less than one month ago. But, among the wreckage, I see us come together in ways I never dreamed possible. I knew in my heart this was the time to share this message with the world and our community. The voices who join me on this track are some of the brightest lights I know. I hope this song serves as a reminder that we are all in this together.”

Additionally, Thomas Rhett and the song’s collaborators will donate all proceeds from “Be A Light” to the MusiCares® COVID-19 Relief Fund. The Recording Academy® and its affiliated charitable foundation MusiCares® have established the COVID-19 Relief Fund to help people in the music industry affected by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak and subsequent cancellation of multiple music events. From hotel and bar gigs to major music festivals, COVID-19 is deeply impacting live music events, and the creative community behind it all.

Administered through MusiCares, the COVID-19 Fund will be used to directly support those in the music community with the greatest need. If you wish to support our efforts to assist music people in need, visit: https://www.grammy.com/MusiCares/CoronavirusReliefFund.

Chris Tomlin’s ‘GOOD FRIDAY NASHVILLE’ Concert at Bridgestone Arena on Friday, April 10 Now Benefiting Tornado Relief

Nashville, TN (March 6, 2020) – Grammy® Award winner Chris Tomlin announced today his fourth-annual ‘Good Friday Nashville’ concert set for Friday, April 10, 2020 at Bridgestone Arena will now donate all proceeds to tornado relief for the preservation and restoration of Middle Tennessee. With the concert previously almost sold out, the event has opened seats 360-degrees around the arena to increase capacity to maximize the donation to the local area. Tickets available NOW at www.goodfridaynashville.com.

My hope is that this night creates ripples of lasting impact, community, and love across Middle Tennessee.”
Chris’ previous three ‘Good Friday Nashville’ concerts (2017-2019) impacted Nashville and the state of Tennessee with proceeds going to Tennessee Kids Belong for the foster care and adoption crisis. Chris has committed to host the yearly concerts indefinitely, currently holding Bridgestone through 2024, as each event gives back to the community.

CMT ARTICLE: Tomlin + Florida Georgia Line

"Heaven Only Knows If the Country Duo Will Pop Up at Tomlin's Christmas Shows

It’s one thing to collaborate. But when two artists start popping up at each other’s shows, you have to wonder if something more is in store.

Or not.

Either way, seeing Chris Tomlin and Florida Georgia Line together is next-level cool, for Tomlin’s fans and Florida Georgia Line’s fans.

“A night I will never forget… having @tylerhubbard join me on stage tonight in Troy to share something we’ve been working on was one of the greatest moments, so much love for you bro… the best is yet to come,” Tomlin shared recently on Instagram after Hubbard shared the stage with him.

And it wasn’t the first time the Grammy-winning Christian artist and worship leader joined forces with the country duo. Earlier this year in Atlanta, Tomlin joined the band to sing a song that Hubbard says he used to sing in church. Together, Tomlin and the band performed “How Great Thou Art.”

“Still in awe that happened. Y’all gotta swipe a couple times but swear it’s worth it,” he’d said at the time. And that story checks out. Six years ago, the band’s Brian Kelley told me all about their how their backgrounds in Christian music allowed them to transition from leading worship to leading 10,000 people in an arena. “If you can get people engaged in what you’re doing in church,” he’d said, “you can easily do that at a bar or an arena or anywhere else.”

Jason Kempin

Next up for Tomlin is his 12-city Christmas tour that begins on Dec. 2 in Augusta, Georgia. “I’ve always loved Christmas and get so excited when we have the opportunity to create new music to worship Jesus, especially this time of the year,” Tomlin said. “This is going to be an incredible night, an intimate night of remembering what the season is all about, remembering what Christmas is about, remembering why we celebrate and why we worship, and remembering our Savior together.”

Listen to the latest release off of his Christmas Day: Christmas Song of Worship EP, out now.
