Chris Tomlin Wraps Christmas Tour & Impressive 2021, GMA 12/22
Nashville, TN - (December 20, 2021) – GRAMMY ® award winner Chris Tomlin wrapped his annual Christmas Tour over the weekend, playing 12 concerts in 10 cities, 10 of which were sold out. The concerts were set in churches to create a unique opportunity for ticket buyers to experience an intimate and unique night of worship! During the concerts, Chris shared some of his most meaningful Christmas memories and favorite carols and led songs from his three Christmas albums - including his new album, exclusively announced with People Magazine, Emmanuel: Christmas Songs of Worship. The tour was sponsored by a Christian humanitarian organization, Food For The Hungry, who work to end all forms of human poverty by providing life-changing development programs, disaster relief, and advocacy and promoted by Awakening Events.
This Wednesday, December 22, Tomlin will wrap up an impressive 2021 with a performance of "Christmas Day" from Emmanuel: Christmas Songs of Worship on Good Morning America.
Chris launched the holiday season at Thanksgiving delivering holiday cheer into homes everywhere with a K-LOVE On Demand premiere of “Emmanuel: Christmas Songs of Worship.” The one-hour event featured videos from the live recording of Tomlin’s third Christmas album, Emmanuel: Christmas Songs of Worship, as well as a special acoustic version of “Silent Night.” The album is available to stream and download on all digital music platforms HERE and is now also available on vinyl HERE.
Additionally, Chris performed as part of “CMT Crossroads Christmas: Brett Young & Friends!” The 60-Minute special also included Brett performing with Boyz II Men, Colbie Caillat, Dann Huff, Darius Rucker, Gavin DeGraw and Maddie & Tae. All the artists appear on Brett’s holiday album, Brett Young & Friends Sing the Christmas Classics. Tomlin also released an exclusive Amazon Original version of his new Christmas album title track, “Emmanuel God With Us,” featuring Anne Wilson, for inclusion in Amazon Music’s holiday programming. Chris’ song is among Amazon Music’s biggest season of holiday programming to date with exclusives from other artists like Camila Cabello, Dan + Shay, Leon Bridges and more! This past summer, Chris delivered new music and embarked on a 14-city amphitheater tour this summer. Chris Tomlin & Friends: Summer EP contains three new songs featuring Chris with superstar Tyler Hubbard (Florida Georgia Line), who also served as executive producer, Jimmie Allen and Russell Dickerson. The project also includes two previously released tracks featuring Russell, Florida Georgia Line and Thomas Rhett from Chris Tomlin & Friends, his #1 debuting album released last year. Chris spoke to USA Today/Tennessean about his excitement for the new music, his growing relationships in Nashville, and this new wave of cross genre collaboration, one that is founded in faith and brings a message of unity and hope to an even greater audience.
To celebrate Easter, Chris Tomlin and Max Lucado with special guests Pat Barrett and award-winning group Lady A, delivered songs and messages of hope the second consecutive year with GOOD FRIDAY WORLDWIDE. The television and radio broadcast with TBN, K-LOVE, Air 1 and more than 30 additional radio stations could be seen and heard in over 32 countries as people around the globe gathered to worship all at the same time and in the same moment. Chris will return to Good Friday Nashville on April 15, 2022, and indefinitely in years forward, to make an impact in Music City and Tennessee by donating proceeds back to the communities. Since the inception of Good Friday Nashville in 2017 when it broke the attendance record as the largest ticketed Christian concert in the history of Bridgestone Arena, Good Friday Nashville has sold-out each year. In 2019 the concert smashed its earlier history-making attendance record.
